Yoonchae Jeong

Yoonchae Jeong was born on December 6, 2007, in Seoul, South Korea. She is well known as the maknae, or the youngest, of KATSEYE, an overseas girl group formed through the 2023 reality show survival The Debut: Dream Academy. KATSEYE is represented by HYBE and Geffen Records and debuted in June 2024 and is based in Los Angeles. 

The crew is dedicated to integrating K-pop and Western pop music and uniting different cultures on an international scale. Yoonchae began training as a K-pop trainee in 2020, honing her strong vocals and dance skills. She speaks both English and Korean and is affectionately called Marshmallow, Bruni, and Cube by her members.  

Music Career

Yoonchae first gained fame after placing fourth on The Debut: Dream Academy in 2023, for which she was signed under KATSEYE. Their debut song "Debut" and their debut EP SIS (Soft Is Strong), released in 2024, brought them to the spotlight as a new force to be reckoned with in K-pop. 

They went on to release more music, including the 2025 track "Gnarly" and their second EP Beautiful Chaos, which topped at number four on the Billboard 200 chart. KATSEYE's revolutionary idea as a global girl group has allowed them to attain a vast global fan base known as EYEKONS.
