Murder in Home and Investigation

Tragically, on July 14, 2025, Robin Kaye and her husband, both aged 70, were found murdered inside their $4.5 million Los Angeles home in Encino. The couple’s bodies, each showing gunshot wounds to the head, were discovered in separate rooms during a welfare check after they had not been heard from for several days. Police believe the killings occurred on or around July 10th, following an attempted burglary. 

Surveillance footage and forensic evidence identified 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian as the suspect; he was arrested without incident. Authorities determined the homicides resulted from a violent confrontation when the couple unexpectedly encountered the intruder inside their home.

The entertainment industry responded with shock and grief. American Idol released a statement expressing devastation, calling Robin Kaye a "cornerstone of the Idol family" who was deeply loved and respected. Contestants from various American Idol seasons and colleagues across television and music fields mourned her passing and remembered her impact on their careers and lives.
