Layla-Maria Grubb (2007-Australia) was a talented and passionate 18-year-old Australian dancer who was defined by her industry, poise, and sunny disposition. She began working with the JLC Dance Company in Western Australia before making the move to Sydney in 2023 to try and take her career with the Village Nation dance company further. Respected not only for her professionalism and discipline in performance but for the warmth of her laughter and charity, too, Layla-Maria inspired those around her. 

Her life was tragically abbreviated as she passed away suddenly in July 2025, shortly after treatment for a presumed seizure. Her unexpected passing saddened her family, friends, and dance community immensely, who still adore her memory as a beautiful dancer and vibrant young lady whose energy and warmth left an everlasting impression.

Dance Career and Training

Layla-Maria Grubb was an Australian youth dancer, only 18 years of age, possessing enormous talent for the performing arts. She trained formally as a dancer with Western Australian-based JLC Dance Company, where her work ethic, charisma, and natural talents quickly made her a leading performer. 

To continue to develop her skills and undertake professional performances, in 2023, she moved to Sydney and joined the Village Nation dance company. Over her career, Layla-Maria showed no end of discipline, dedication, and artistry, earning the respect of teachers, colleagues, and audience alike.

Her acquaintances and friends who had known her described her as a healthy, cheerful, and highly focused young woman. She was described as having an infectious smile, warm heart, and warmth, and radiating light and joy around her.
