Abigail "Abby" Howard was born on August 3, 1992, in Jackson, Mississippi, and grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. She pursued a degree in biology and a specialization in evolution at McGill University in Montreal. 

Science pervaded her educational background but never dominated her lifelong profession, as Abby went after and excelled as an artist and storyteller. Her science background quietly permeates her artwork, permeated with a scientific inclination for imaginative stories.

Career as a Webcomic 

Abby began her career as a webcomic with Junior Scientist Power Hour in 2012, a pop culture parodying funny slice-of-life comic. She became more popular as she was a contestant of the webcomic reality show Strip Search. 

Abby's lead project is The Last Halloween, a horror-comedy webcomic following a young girl named Mona as she battles monsters on Halloween night. Backed by a highly successful Kickstarter project, this comic is praised for its intricate storytelling, realistic illustrations, and engaging characters. 

Other Works of Art 

Aside from her flagship webcomic, Abby has also co-authored The Portrait of Sal Pullman, a comic book written in collaboration with author Lonnie Nadler, and authored Dinosaur Empire!, a graphic novel exploring prehistoric history as part of the Earth Before Us series. She also co-hosted the horror-themed podcast Scared Yet?, showing her versatility in exploring horror in other than comics.

Abby is a co-founder of independent game studio Black Tabby Games, a studio she shares with husband Tony Arias. The studio makes horror visual novels that combine storytelling and interactivity.
